It is the policy of MSD Warren Township to not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, or disability in its educational programs or employment policies as required by the Indiana Civil Rights Act (I.C. 22-9-1), (I.C. 20-33-1), Titles VI and VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Equal Pay Act of 1973, Title IX (1972 amendment, educational), and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973.

MSD Warren Township does not discriminate on the basis of a protected class including but not limited to race, color, national origin, age, religion, disability in the programs or activities which it operates or the employment therein or admission thereto. MSD Warren Township adheres to all non-discrimination and anti-harassment laws and does not tolerate acts of harassment.

It is the policy of MSD Warren Township to maintain an education and work environment that is free from all forms of unlawful harassment, including sexual harassment. This commitment applies to all School Corporation operations, programs, and activities. All students, administrators, teachers, staff, and all other school personnel share responsibility for reporting any form of harassment or discrimination or harassment they observe or that is reported to them. This policy applies to unlawful conduct occurring at all academic, extra-curricular, and school-sponsored activities. Behavior prohibited by this policy also includes conduct in any school program or activity taking place in school facilities, on school transportation, or any off-campus conduct that has a continuing effect on campus or in a school program or activity.

  • Inquiries regarding compliance with Section 504 or the Americans with Disabilities Act should be directed to Mr. Brian Simkins, Chief Human Resources Officer.

  • Inquiries regarding compliance with Title IX and Titles VI and VII of the Civil Rights Act 1964 should be directed to Mr. Brian Simkins, Chief Human Resources Officer or Mrs. Pam Griffin, Deputy Human Resource Officer and Title IX Compliance Officer. 

  • Any person may report sexual harassment in person, by mail, by telephone, or email, using the contact information of the Title IX coordinator (below) or by reaching out to your school's leadership team or counselors at anytime.

Title IX Compliance Overview - Full Course via Vector Solutions, K-12 (Safe Schools)

Title IX is used to prevent discrimination in educational institutions that receive federal funds.

Specifically, the law governs the way in which institutions must handle accusations of sexual harassment to ensure that investigations are transparent and fair. This course is designed to provide school staff with an overview of Title IX regulations to ensure that their school district is in compliance. Topics covered include the role of legal precedent, regulatory and sub-regulatory guidance related to Title IX; relevant terminology used in Title IX guidance; and guidelines school districts must follow to remain in compliance with the law.

Title IX Initial Training

Title IX Initial Training is provided by the Title IX Compliance Office.

Training presentation uses information provided by CCHA Title IX Training for District Leaders, Athletic Directors, and Counselors in August 2022 (2021 and 2020).

The objective of the training to ensure that participants understand:

  • The definitions of "sexual harassment" and other terms

  • What "triggers" a school's obligation to respond to Title IX

  • Support Measures

  • Reporting Obligations

  • "Actual Knowledge" and reporting

  • Written Notification

  • Emergency Removal

The District Leaders ensure that staff, students and families are aware of Title IX and how to access the Title IX Coordinator.
